Percy Wadham Isle of Wight - The Test 4 1/2"For sale here is a Percy Wadham's Specialties Isle of Wight, The Test 4. 5" alloy trout fly reel, ivorine handle, ventilated face plate, deep drum core, brass spool release drag adjuster to backplate, 4 screw full length and straight brass foot with central hole, back fully stamped with maker's details. Auxiliary brake with ivory knob on rim. Excellent+ condition. No spool wobble. I'm fairly certain the reel is 1920's vintage.

Down-locking nickel silver pocketed cap and "butterfly" ring over a cedar wood spacer

Duplicated MKII check with one engageable pawl and one spare from approximately 1920 +- a year or so

The ferrules are witness marked and double wrapped in the area that is prone to varnish cracks (at the end of the ferrule tabs)

Ring hook keeper over a gradually swelled butt

The rod weighs 3 7/8 oz

Stamped "Hardy Brothers Ltd Alnwick" under flap

An excellent Tibor "Riptide" fly reel by Ted Juracsik

The very interesting detachable grip is in beautiful condition and appears to have been handled very little and comes with nice ferrule plug

There is an invisible repair wrap on one of the tips as well as a few scratches throughout

A small swell leads to the grip

for a DT4 or WF5 line

The script remains bold though there is some slight wear
