George III Chinoiserie Tea CaddyA charming late Georgian Chinoiserie decorated and (possibly) silver mounted tea caddy, England, late 18th early 19th century. Why we love it With its exquisite painting on the reverse of the lid, and with beautifully patinated, original decoration throughout, this is an absolutely delightful little box. Ideal for small bijouterie or simply as an object.

It has the extending top with two leaves

It is miraculous how it has survived 250 years of use

and in 1830

three-branch giltwood wall lights or sconces

fashioned as Ionic columns

but can be polished if a shiny surface is desired

High quality dense mahogany also used as secondary timber

in extensively patinated 'country house' condition

Outstanding rich colour

are traditionally associated with Edward Holmes Baldock (1777-1845)

the sleek and lightweight design of these armorial hall chairs does not suggest much of a practical use
