The 1949 Lafleur's saturated purple/garnet color is followed by a reluctant nose that with coaxing reveals intense

This is at once more elegant and spicier as well with its pretty combination of red currant

The bouquet offers explosive notes of wood fire

The middle weight flavors possess a mouth feel that is almost a hypothetical combination of the Lavières and Aux Allots in that it's quite rich yet sleek with a seductive succulence

all wrapped in a mouth coating finish that offers very good but not truly special length

This too is really quite impressive for a Nuits villages

This somewhat rustic effort is very Corton in basic character and a wine that's going to require patience

Here the equally brooding nose is slightly more elegant with its cool and restrained nose of red currant

white blossom

This superb wine does a slow build from the mid-palate on back to the massively deep finale

This is very impressive juice and still holding perfectly and the '85 is easily the best vintage of the decade for Clos de Tart
